Physical Therapy is a conservative approach to improve muscle strength, joint health, flexibility, endurance and overall well being.
At Borne PT, your therapist, Dr. Alicia Bornemann, PT, DPT, will provide personalized care for injury recovery, chronic conditions, and physical improvement.
Benefits include pain relief, better mobility, injury prevention, and increased strength through exercises, hands-on therapy, and body mechanics education.
Whether recovering from surgery, handling a sports injury, or managing age-related pain, our team is dedicated to your health.
During your first visit, you will meet with Dr. Alicia Bornemann, PT, DPT, your physical therapist throughout your entire care.
She is a movement expert who will evaluate your condition and create a personalized treatment plan to meet your goals.
The evaluation (first session) will be 1- hour long. Your treatment plan may include exercises, manual therapy, and other techniques to help you achieve your goals.
Bring your ID, filled in paperwork if you did not complete it online (check your email), and comfortable clothes and shoes to exercise in as you will begin treatment right away.
This is the most difficult question to answer because, it depends....
The length of your treatment will depend on your condition and your goals. Some people may only need a few sessions, while others may need several weeks or months of therapy.
Since we use a hybrid method of treatment using our app to give you exercises at home, my patients usually only need 2-4 sessions per month.
This method provides accountability, allows you to receive the hands on care you need and ultimately, saves you time and money.
Physical therapy evaluations and treatment sessions are 1 hour long. We do have the option of the Express 30 - minute treatment session for quick check ins, targeted manual therapy, and targeted exercise progressions or form check ups.
If you book a Dry needling or cupping only session, sessions are 20 minutes long.
In Florida you do not need a referral to be seen by a physical therapist if you have ever been seen for the condition you are seeking care for.
However, if this is a new condition, if after 30 days of therapy I do not see any improvements, I will refer you to a physician or orthopedic doctor to schedule a consult.
Most clients who see me first and quickly after an injury, do not end up needing imaging or further referrals and will begin to see improvements after a few treatments sessions.
Dry needling, also known as intramuscular therapy, is a method employed to address musculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
It is typically integrated into comprehensive pain management strategies, which may include exercise, stretching, massage and additional modalities.
Needling therapy involves the insertion of fine, microfilament needles beneath the skin to target underlying myofascial trigger points.
The benefits of dry needling include:
Reduced pain
Improved flexibility and reduced tension
Improved muscle function
Enhanced pain management capabilities
Restoration of normalized nerve impulses transmitted to the muscles
Dry needling only sessions require a Physical Therapy Evaluation prior to booking of a Dry needling only session.
I am not a pelvic floor therapist and do not provide internal exams or assessments and can refer you to a pelvic floor therapist in the area. I work on the same team and work in conjunction with a pelvic floor therapist to treat external orthopedic conditions and provide dry needling as needed.
I can :
- Provide external support and assessments and determine the need for a referral
- Assist in post partum recovery and return to exercise
- Provide C-section massage and scar mobilization
- Provide dry needling to external hip musculature in conjunction to your pelvic floor therapy

In short, no. There are amazing chiropractors in town I can refer you to if I think an adjustment is needed to accomplish your rehabilitative goals.

We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards, online payments, HSA & FSA
Self pay means I do not take insurance or rely on third party payers.
I want to provide a high standard of treatment based on your needs and not dictated by what insurance reimburses. Insurance can be a great tool, however, it can be very restrictive in terms of visits and the type and length of therapy they will pay for. Managing codes, claims and reimbursement takes time away from my clients and is inefficient.
We are Out Of Network (OON) with insurance and are happy to provide you a receipt or superbill at your appointment in order for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Full payment is expected at the beginning of the appointment.
Your appointment time is reserved just for you.
A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient.
As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment.
Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of $50 to the card on file.
