Our Story

Where healing hands meet mindful movement, transforming bodies and lives through physical therapy and mindful movement

What do we do and what makes us different?

Welcome to Borne Physical Therapy & Wellness --- where personalized care meets purposeful movement.

At Borne Physical Therapy, we're redefining what healthcare looks like for people who want more than just quick fixes. Founded in 2021 to bridge the gap in our "sick-care" system, we've created a space where healing, movement, and empowerment come together.

What started as a mobile business has grown into a boutique wellness studio in Lake Wales, Florida—offering one-on-one physical therapy alongside Pilates, strength training, and whole-body movement practices.

Our approach is intentionally different:

  • One-on-one care from a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no assistants, and no insurance limitations.

  • A root-cause approach that focuses on long-term results, not just temporary relief.

  • Individualized care plans that support the whole person — body, mind, and movement.

  • A calm, supportive environment where we take time to truly listen and adjust care to your goals.

Here, you’re never just another appointment — you’re a partner in your own healing story.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, navigating chronic pain, or simply ready to feel stronger and more connected in your body, we’re here to guide you forward.

Meet your Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Alicia Bornemann, PT, DPT

A proud Lake Wales native, Dr. Alicia Bornemann is a

Doctor of Physical Therapy and graduate of the University of Miami,

where she earned her degree with high honors.

After gaining valuable clinical experience in Miami, she returned

home to bring a fresh, whole-person approach to

physical therapy and wellness in her hometown.

Alicia’s practice blends evidence-based clinical care with mindful

movement, offering a unique and highly personalized experience

for every client.

As a certified Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor, she believes strongly in the connection between Pilates and rehabilitation—and is passionate about integrating both into her care. She’s excited to bring this dynamic, movement-based approach to the Lake Wales community.

Her expertise spans orthopedic conditions, injury prevention, chronic pain management, and athletic performance. From student athletes to older adults navigating life transitions, Alicia’s goal is to help each client rediscover strength, mobility, and confidence in their body.

As one of the few providers in Polk County certified in both Dry Needling and Graston Technique®, Alicia offers advanced, hands-on interventions that relieve pain and support healing. Her intuitive, movement-centered approach is built on more than five years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

Outside the studio, Alicia is a supporter of the UCF Knights and Miami Hurricanes, a devoted mom to her son and her dog, and an active member of the Lake Wales community. Whether she's traveling, volunteering, or spending time with family, she believes in living vibrantly—and brings that same energy to her work with clients.

In her care, you’re not just receiving physical therapy—you’re a trusted partner in your own wellness journey.
